Service Description

The American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver® CPR AED course is a comprehensive training program designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. This course teaches participants the critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking, or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrive. NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE SAME COURSE AS "BLS FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS," WHICH ISSUES THE "BLS PROVIDER CARD" WHICH IS FOR PROFESSIONALS WORKING IN HEALTHCARE. HEARTSAVER® CPR AED IS FOR ANYONE IN THE GENERAL PUBLIC, WHETHER OR NOT THEY WORK IN HEALTHCARE. NOT SURE? TEXT (323) 327-6353. Course Content The Heartsaver CPR AED class covers the following key topics: 1. Adult CPR and AED Use: - Performing high-quality CPR for adults. - Proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). 2. Child CPR and AED Use: - Performing CPR for children and infants. - AED use on children. 3. Infant CPR: - Detailed instructions on performing CPR on infants. 4. Relief of Choking: - Techniques to assist choking adults, children, and infants. 5. General First Aid Concepts: - Basic first aid techniques. Certification Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive an AHA Heartsaver CPR AED course completion card. This certification is provided via e-card, a digital format that is easily accessible and can be emailed or stored electronically for convenience. The certification is valid for two years from the date of the course completion. Format The course is typically delivered in a classroom setting with hands-on practice and instructor-led sessions. However, there may be blended learning options available, combining online coursework with in-person skills sessions. The exact format can vary based on the training center.
